I started this painting before my dear Father passed away.
I held his hand as he took his last breath.
I stopped painting when he died.
My Mother's cancer cancer returned.
She passed away four months after my Father.
With the help of Hospice, I was able to care for her at home as she wanted.
She passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones, flowers, soft classical music and memories of a life lived well.
I held her hand as she took her last breath.
As an artist, I wasn't able to paint for a long time. I didn't think I had anymore art left inside me. Grief clouded my inspiration.
On the eve of the anniversary of my Father's death, I completed the sunflower.
It is 6 feet x 6 feet.
May it be a memorial to the love we all carry in our hearts for our loved ones..
